At the Sunday finals competition, which aired live on the Watch Miss America website, Grace Stanke, the winner of Miss America 2023, was crowned as her successor. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Marsh was given a sparkling crown, a flowing red cape, and a bunch of roses. Along with getting hugs from the other competitors, the new Miss America 2024 took her first step onto the stage.
During the talent section of Sunday’s finals, Marsh told the tale of her first solo flight through a spoken word performance. She highlighted her charitable platform, walked the runway in an evening gown, strutted in fitness attire, and responded to questions from the audience. Marsh founded the Whitney Marsh Foundation, which raises funds for pancreatic cancer research. The organization bears her mother’s name, who passed away in 2018 from pancreatic cancer.
Thirty-one women, including Miss Alabama 2023 Brianna Burrell, participated in the Miss America finals. Burrell was not included in Sunday’s evening gown, interview, fitness, or talent portions because she did not place in the top 11 of the competition. But Burrell was visible throughout the performance, having made an appearance in films shot earlier in the week, dancing in a production number, walking in a “Parade of Evening Gowns” portion, and introducing herself to the crowd.
