Xiaomi re-entered the tablet market in August 2021 with the release of the Xiaomi Pad 5 series. In the coming months, the non-professional model will be available in a number of international markets. A year after its initial release, the product is finally receiving the Android 12 update on a global scale.Follow more updates on Satiknews.com
Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Pad with MIUI 12.5 for Android 11. It was upgraded to MIUI 13 before being released in markets such as India.
In China, the table received the Android 12 update a few days ago. This update is now available for the device’s EEA and Global variants.
It is worth noting, however, that the most recent software update for the product is in the ‘Stable Beta’ phase. In other words, it has only been made available to a small number of users.
However, it is unfortunate that the Xiaomi Pad 5 is only receiving the Android 12 update now, when Android 13 is already available. Instead, the company should have released Android 12L, as Samsung is doing with its tablet lineup.
If there are no major issues with these early adopters, the update will be made available for more units in the coming days. At the same time, we anticipate Xiaomi extending the update’s availability to more regional variants, such as India, Russia, Turkey, and Taiwan.
It is currently unknown whether the Xiaomi Pad 5 will receive the Android 13 update in the future. However, it may receive the MIUI 14 update.
