Patricia Schroeder was a well-known American politician and former Congresswoman. Her complete name was Patricia Nell Scott Schroeder. She was also a trailblazer for women’s and girls’ rights.
Patricia was widely known as Pat, and she was credited with helping to pass the 1978 Being Pregnant Discrimination Act, which prohibited employers from firing pregnant women or denying them maternity benefits. She was also the first female United States Representative from Colorado. She served in the United States House of Representatives from 1973 to 1997.
