Kyle Ellington: Who was he?

Kyle Ellington played a significant role for the Sacramento Kings professional basketball team as well as the Oakland Athletics professional baseball team. His passing has shocked everyone who knew him, from his current home in Oakland, California, to his hometown of Augusta, Georgia.

In a Facebook post confirming his passing, Kyle’s brother Eric wrote: “This is his brother Eric and his mother speaking on behalf of our beloved Kyle. I just wanted to let you all know that he passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, 1/21.2023… He was rushed to the hospital as soon as he started complaining of severe stomach pain. Just know that he gave it everything he had.

He will never be forgotten, the post says. He is my brother, my mother’s son, my daughter’s uncle, my wife’s sister, my wife’s nephew, my cousin, and a host of other people’s friends. Kyle left us far too soon at the age of 36 because he had so much potential and much more to accomplish.

Before beginning his professional career as a baseball coach, Kyle Ellington attended high school and college in Augusta, Georgia, where he was born. He established himself on the field by helping the Athletic to several back-to-back winning seasons. He stayed with one team for a while before moving to the Sacramento Kings as a coach after the team hired him. He won two championships over the course of his six seasons. In addition to this, he mentored a lot of young players. Unfortunately, Kyle Ellington is no longer with us, but we will always remember him and his thoughts.
