As the Raleigh doctor who delivered more than 10,000 children and promoted healthcare integration, Dr. George Clyde Debnam was well-known. He was a remarkable individual who was well-known for his finest work. He practiced medicine in Raleigh for more than 50 years. In addition to his private practise, he ran a sizable hospital practise. At Raleigh’s segregated hospital for African Americans, Saint Agnes Hospital, he began his professional career. He was the last employee to have held positions at Wake Medical Center and Saint Agnes. He was a wonderful person, and many people will always miss him.

Dr. George was born to sharecropper parents in Youngsville, Franklin County, on November 5, 1927. After completing his secondary education in Youngsville, he relocated to Raleigh in 1943 to begin his 15-year-old enrollment at Shaw University. He called North Carolina home. He was the father of identical twin girls. On January 27, 2023, at 12 p.m., Christian Faith Baptist Church will host his funeral service. Many people paid tribute to him and offered their sincere condolences to his family.
