Samsung has essentially confirmed the Galaxy S23 launch date. The flagship line will be available on February 1. With the S23 series’ launch confirmed, we’re hearing more rumours and reports about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5.

Among the most recent rumours, a substantial report claims that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be slightly thicker and heavier than previous reports. While this may be a little disappointing, it is most likely for the best. In other words, the Z Fold 5 may include a S Pen Slot and a larger battery! Follow For More Updates at

According to a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5’s thickness has increased slightly. The thickness has increased from 6.3 to 6.5 mm. And the extra thickness is ideal for housing a S Pen.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 could be used with a stylus. It did not, however, include a slot for holding one. As a result, users who rely on the S Pen must transport it in various ways.

When it comes to the increased weight, it could indicate a larger battery. This would be a bold move by Samsung, allowing the Galaxy Z Fold 5 to compete more effectively with the Oppo Find N2.

However, the report appears to link the weight gain to the camera sensors. This implies that the Z Fold 5 will have a new and possibly larger primary camera. However, there was already a rumour about the front-facing camera. According to reports, Samsung has replaced the 10 MP selfie camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 with a 12 MP camera. Again, this will allow the Fold 5 to compete effectively with the Oppo Find N2.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5: A Thinner, Heavier Upgrade?

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be powered by a Qualcomm 4nm chip. According to reports, the chip will be known as the Snapdragon 985 5G. And that contradicts the naming of the current Snapdragon flagship SoCs.  For the latest news, follow us on Google News

Given the current SoCs, we expected the Z Fold 5 to be powered by a boosted version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, similar to what Samsung is doing with the Galaxy S23 Series.

As a result, we believe the reported Snapdragon 985 5G is simply a test version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. And the Z Fold 5 may indeed include an enhanced version of the 8 Gen 2. Aside from the CPU and cameras, recent rumours indicate that the upcoming Z Fold 5 will have a less prominent crease. And if Samsung can provide something better than the Oppo Find N2, it will undoubtedly appeal to a large number of people.
