To begin with, the design is similar, if not identical, to the Oppo 58 5G, which was released in November 2022. It has a camera module on the left side and a vertical stripe that runs the length of the back panel. The front of the phone has a flat display with a waterdrop notch. The phone has relatively thin bezels and a thicker chin.
Moving on to the specifications. The Oppo A78 5G has a 6.56-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The handset is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage. It also has a microSD card slot for additional expansion.

The smartphone has a dual rear camera setup, with the primary sensor measuring 50MP. A 2MP depth camera is also included. It has an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. A 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging support powers the device.
It also has a fingerprint scanner on the side, 5G connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB-C. The smartphone is dust and water resistant to IP54 standards. It is powered by Android 13 with ColorOS 13 layered on top.
Finally, the Oppo A78 5G’s official price has yet to be revealed. The company has also not revealed the smartphone’s Malaysian release date. According to a recent leak, the device’s base storage variant will cost around Rs. 19,000 ($230).
